BUCS Recap (Week 1)

The Blues went away to a highly fancied Nottingham team. After 89 minutes of typically attritional BUCS football, debutant and fresher Jake Duxbury stole in at the back post to turn in a parried Dom Thelen shot. A winning start!

The Centaurs were unlucky not the win in extremely difficult conditions away at De Montfort. Despite numerous chances for the Oxford side, a penalty save from Josh Tray ensured the game stayed goalless and Oxford returned with a point, though the Centaurs probably deserved all 3.

The Colts faced a physical UC Birmingham 2nds team at home. Having dominated for most of the game, they finally got their just rewards in the 90th minute when Clifford (making his OUAFC debut) poked home from a flick on. However, they were cruelly denied the 3 points when UCB managed to steal an equaliser from the resultant restart, with what was the last kick of the game. Very unlucky not to have all 3 points, but a very positive start nonetheless.
